Hi Jeri-Lynn, thanks for the honest feedback! I will definitely experiment with a combination of live and slideshow videos. You're right, it can spice up the video a lot. Thanks for that tip. I've been looking into Screenflow and Camtasia for Mac, but will definitely have a look at Serif MoviePlus as well, as I'm seriously looking for a better video editing program. Currently I'm using iMovie. Although it's not ideal, it's a start :)

Hi Francis,

In your email newsletter you asked for comments on your venture into videos, so here are mine! My first impression was that the plain "talking head" on a white background was kind of boring (sorry!)... but I found the message itself very interesting and well worth watching the whole video for, which more than compensated for the plain appearance!

I do some work with videos myself, although I'm not quite an expert as yet. Most of my experience has been with "slideshow" videos, with a combination of still images, text and sound - which is a format that can work quite well for informational videos. I've also played around a bit with "cutting" live videos - you can actually include sections of live video with slideshow sections. I've been using a program called Serif MoviePlus X6, which does a pretty good job and has the advantage of not being overly expensive.

Anyway, thanks for your great advice - I've been following you for over a year now - and good luck with your video experiences!
